This Apple Pie Sangria tastes just like apple pie in a glass! Made with a base of white wine and with flavors of apple, cinnamon, and vanilla in it, it is going to be your new favorite cocktail! It is perfect for a party!

I am a proud ambassador for Meijer stores and purchased absolutely everything I needed for this party with just one stop at Meijer!

You guys! Summer is wrapping up! Can you feel it? I know that lots of kids have already gone back to school, but mine aren’t quite there yet. But we are just days away from them going back, and that means squeezing in all sorts of last minute summer fun.

One thing I can never get enough of is backyard get togethers! We have a great neighborhood with lots of amazing new neighbors, and I love our backyard parties.

I have TONS of ideas for you in this post on throwing the perfect backyard BBQ or Labor Day party, but first things first . . . . the cocktails. Cocktails are the first things my friends and I plan when we are going to have a get together! And for this party, I made this amazing Apple Pie Sangria!

September is bourbon month, and Meijer Stores have tons of great ways to help you celebrate.

If you aren’t quite ready to take the leap into being a bourbon drinker, you could start with this 1000 Stories, bourbon barrel aged wine. It is a Zinfandel, and it’s absolutely amazing. I took the liberty of pairing it with some cinnamon infused Jim Bean Apple Bourbon Whiskey and then added some Jim Bean Vanilla Bourbon Whiskey for the most delicious Apple Crisp Sangria. You guys. I was not wrong. It is amazing.

Apple Crisp Sangria

  • 750 ml 1000 Stories Bourbon Zinfandel
  • 1 cup Jim Bean Apple Bourbon Whiskey, steeped with two cinnamon sticks over night
  • 1/2 cup Jim Bean Vanilla Bourbon Whiskey
  • 3 red apples, sliced thin

And because I am me, I also made an Apple Pie Sangria using a white wine – parties should have options. I love that I had a red and a white option! Plus I know how much you all loved my Caramel Apple Sangria, so you are sure to love this one too!

Apple Pie Sangria Recipe

  • 750 ml white wine (I used a spritzer, but you could use any white you like)
  • 1 cup Jim Bean Apple Bourbon Whiskey, steeped with two cinnamon sticks over night
  • 1/2 cup vanilla vodka
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup
  • 3 green apples, sliced thin

You can find the recipe and the full instruction with tips at the bottom of the post.

Once I chose the drinks, I decided I might as well consider some food too. Just kidding, you guys know how much I love delicious food. There is something so fun about party planning and picking out the perfect recipes.

I thought it would be fun since we were celebrating the end of summer to focus on grilling. I grabbed some Certified Angus Beef Burgers from Meijer. I love the relationship they have with Certified Angus Beef! I learned all about it when I went to Ohio in 2016.

They’re able to provide top of the line quality beef at a low price and their burgers are ground in store daily, so you get a great fresh burger every time!

In addition to the burgers, I decided to grill some of the great seasonal produce I found at Meijer and make an amazing Grilled Charcuterie Tray! That way guests could just build their plates from that!

What goes on a Grilled Charcuterie Tray?

For this tray, I really wanted to focus on summery food that was in season, in addition to grilled burgers and deli meats for sandwiches.

  • Grilled eggplant and grilled zucchini that had been lightly oiled and seasoned with salt and pepper before grilling
  • Grilled corn that had been placed directly on the grill
  • Grilled watermelon and grilled peaches
  • Turkey, roast beef, and ham from Meijer’s deli
  • Sliced cheeses
  • Certified Angus Beef grilled hamburgers
  • Pickles
  • Finally, I threw on some cherries here and there because I love the color they added to the tray

And because Meijer really is a one stop shop, I was able to get my paper plates, napkins, and plastic cutlery there too! Right as I was headed to check out, I made the last minute decision to grab some flowers too. Fresh flowers are my favorite way to decorate for a get together, and I love that I didn’t have to make another stop to get some!

Because I really wanted there to be something fun for the kids too, I got this great Double Ladder Ball game. The yard games are 20% off and so fun! Plus, Meijer has just about everything else you would need for spending time outside from bug spray to sunscreen to camp chairs and coolers!

I love shopping at Meijer because everything is so easy to find, there are always great deals, and the people are so friendly.

Tips and Tricks for Making Apple Pie Sangria

This sangria is really super easy to make, but there are a few things that make it better.

  1. Make sure that you use a white wine that you love. I used a spritzer (like a blend), and that worked great, but use what you love and then adjust for sweetness at the end.
  2. You do need to start this drink the day before, but it is worth it.
  3. Infuse your Jim Bean Apple Bourbon Whiskey with cinnamon sticks, by combining the two in a mason jar and letting it sit on the counter overnight.
  4. In a pinch you can just infuse for an hour.
  5. Taste your sangria before you add the simple syrup. You may find that you like how it is without.

Enjoy my friends!!
