This simple Chick Fil A Sauce is just like what you get at your favorite restaurant. Put it on your favorite chicken sandwiches or just use it for dipping fries!
I am sort of obsessed with making condiment recipes for you. I love how a simple little sauce or dressing can completely change a recipe.
This is, again, true with this great Chick Fil A Sauce and Grilled Chicken Sandwiches. Those sandwiches are good on their own. But this sauce takes them over the top.
Nathan loves Chick Fil A so much that they know his name there. I’m not kidding. And occasionally I go with him and I always grab several packets of the Honey BBQ Sauce. It is so delicious and puts fries and the chicken sandwich over the top.
This Homemade Chick Fil A Sauce is just like what you get there. Even Nathan thinks so – quite the endorsement.
Absolutely delicious!! Not just with chicken but also wonderful for dipping homemade pigs-in-the-blanket. Making a second batch in one week.

What is Chick Fil A Sauce
Chick Fil A Sauce is a really simple recipe that combines honey, BBQ sauce and mayonnaise. It makes a wonderful dipping sauce or sandwich spread.
Chick Fil A Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce Ingrdients
Only a few simple pantry ingredients to make this recipe! In lieu of BBQ Sauce, we are adding a few of the key ingredients to my homemade BBQ Sauce.
For the full list of amounts be sure to read the recipe card at the bottom of the post.
- Mayonnaise
- Honey
- Yellow Mustard
- Ketchup
- Lemon Juice
- Brown Sugar
- Apple Cider Vinegar
If you don’t have any apple cider vinegar, you can use white vinegar. But, I will suggest you buy a bottle of apple cider vinegar; it adds such a wonderful tang to this and many other recipes – like my Bourbon Chicken.
How to Make Chick Fil A Sauce
The best part about this recipe is that it is just whisking it together. There is no need to heat it up or let it simmer like with my traditional BBQ Sauce.
How to Use Honey BBQ Sauce
Like any great condiment, there are a lot of different uses for this recipe.
- This is great on my Grilled Chicken Sandwich. Like over the top amazingly good.
- It is amazing with fries. It would even been great with my Sweet Potato Fries.
- This Chick Fil A Sauce is perfect for dipping Chicken Tenders. I have a great recipe that requires no frying.
- I absolutely love this on my Chicken Wraps.
Storing
This copycat Chick Fil A Sauce can store in an airtight container for up to four weeks in your refrigerator.
That said, I can’t express enough that you should use your best judgement. If you inadvertently used an ingredient that wasn’t fresh, or was close to it’s expiration date, that storage time could be shortened.
Please use your best judgement. If it smells or looks off, in other words, different from how it was when you first made it, toss it.
Because of the mayonnaise in this recipe, I would not recommend freezing it.

you can taste each ingredient including the sourness of the lemon juice. it leaves an awful aftertaste in your mouth
Lisa Longley says
Hi Jackson! Is it at all possible that your lemon juice has turned? I’ve made this recipe countless times and I can never taste the lemon juice as separate from the rest of the recipe.
Lili says
Does this HAVE to be refrigerated for 4 weeks or can i use it now
Lisa Longley says
You can use it right away, it just needs to be used within four weeks.

This tasted great! Thank you for the recipe! Just one question, how can I make it thicker? It was a little runny.
Lisa Longley says
I’m so glad you liked this! This just kind of is how this sauce is. It’s a little on the thinner side.
