How to Make BLT Tacos
Here is a brief overview of how this BLT baked taco recipe comes together. For the full recipe including all measurements, scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post.
- Cook the bacon. Cook until just crisp and remove from the pan.
- Cook the chicken. Add the ground chicken (you could also use ground turkey) and the ranch seasoning to the pan that the bacon was cooked in and cook until the chicken is no longer pink. Stir in the cream cheese and remove from the heat.
- Put the tacos together. Divide the meat mixture between the tacos, about a large spoonful for each taco shell. Top each taco with bacon and cheese.
- Bake the tacos. Bake the tacos for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and top with tomatoes and lettuce. Enjoy immediately.
Cooking Bacon
When I am cooking bacon for a recipe that calls for it to be in small pieces, I prefer to cut it up before cooking it. It cuts so much easier when it is raw than when it’s cooked. I find it easiest to use kitchen shears, but a sharp knife would also work.
As soon as the bacon pieces start to crisp up, take them out of the pan with a slotted spoon and transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate. If you wait until the bacon is fully crispy, it will be overcooked by the time you add it to your recipe.
Storing and Reheating Leftovers
These oven-baked tacos are best enjoyed fresh, however, if you have leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat them in the oven (covered or wrapped in foil) or air fryer until heated through.
FAQ
I wouldn’t recommend that for this. These tacos really need to stand on their own for baking, and that works best with hard shell tacos.
These are BLT tacos, and I wanted to bulk them out a little further. That’s why we are adding the chicken, cream cheese, and mozzarella.
