This Pina Colada Sangria literally takes less than five minutes to throw together, but is so insanely delicious that you’ll want to make at least two batches, since your party guests will go nuts for it.
If you love piña coladas and sangria, definitely make this great sangria recipe!
Remember when I said I had a few more summer recipes? This is one of them . . . . but it’s okay, right? I can wear white pants and still post sangria right? A few more days?
Over the weekend, we hosted a huge BBQ to say goodbye to my brother and sister in law who are moving over seas.
To call them my brother and sister in law, honestly, feels crappy. I use “in law” because it helps you to understand that we are talking about my husband’s brother and his wife, but honestly, they are my brother and sister. They are truly family. I have known them just a few months less than I’ve known Nathan, and they have always been nothing but kind and sweet to me. They welcomed me as family, even before I was officially family.
They are raising three of the greatest kids. Three sweet little boys (well, two little boys, and one not so little boy who is the same height as me at age 10), who are going to be such great men, that you’d be so happy to have them marry your daughters . . . you know, assuming your daughters aren’t their cousins, lol! They came with absolutely no notice when Piper was born and stayed overnight with our older kids. And they were endlessly supportive when Elliot died. Taking care of things at our house, fighting battles we couldn’t fight, and a few months later, taking care of Gavin so that we could take a much needed husband and wife getaway.
I adore them. Saying goodbye was so bittersweet, because I know that this will be so good for them, but so sad for us to not have them in town.
What is super necessary for bittersweet goodbyes?
Sangria. Lots and lots of sangria.
This is the second time I’ve served this sangria recipe to a crowd, and the second time it was deliciously devoured. It is based on the idea of a pina colada with the combo of coconut and pineapple and then a very sweet moscato in the background. If you like dry white wines, you might want to use something else, because this is a very sweet and delicious drink. You could cut it with white soda to make it not so strong, and last a little longer.
Though I will take mine strong please, especially when saying goodbye to my family.

What is white soda? I know that I will love it as it combines everything I love but do have some friends who will perhaps not want quite so sweet.
Lisa Longley says
By white soda I mean like Sprite, 7UP, or Sierra Mist. If you really want to cut the sweetness, I would serve it with Club Soda.
Susan Hach says
Can you make this with another white wine, maybe pinot grigo? Moscata is too sweet for me. Thanks!!
Lisa Longley says
Of course! One of my favorite things about sangria is how easy it is to swap things out. With the sweetness from the pineapple juice you should still be good.

How many glass can this serve?
Lisa Longley says
It depends on the pour and whether or not you add soda to it, but I would say between 6 and 10
Kim says
This sounds delicious!! But does it have to be chilled overnight? I’m not patient?
Lisa Longley says
Ha, Kim! I understand impatience. Especially when it comes to alcohol. Just go for it.
Nancy says
Am I reading this correctly….you use TWO bottles of moscato?
Lisa Longley says
Yes indeed, Nancy!

Sounds yummy! BUT, since I am nursing, I would do a mocktail version- use sparking white grape juice, some coconut water, imitation rum flavoring……
Jacqueline Barrett says
This looks delicious! Does it have to be chilled overnight? Would it make a huge difference?
Lisa Longley says
It definitely doesn’t have to, though I would recommend serving it cold.
