This S’mores Trail Mix comes together in a snap and is perfect for the endless kid snacking! I’m so excited to be partnering with Horizon to bring you this super easy well rounded snack!
So I was talking recently with a friend about kid snacking, and she was complaining about how her kids’ snacking is ennnnnnnndless. #canigetanAMEN!?!? And seriously, my kids’ snacking is pretty endless too, but for the most part, I feel really good about their snacking. I mean, there have even been meals that they didn’t eat all that much of, but I felt so good about the snacks they had that day that I was cool with it. As long as they tried what was on their plate come dinner time.
FYI: I was going to share a story about a kid cashier at Target who I flustered beyond belief, but that will be for another day. That story probably goes better with a cocktail recipe anyway ;)
So, I think one of the reasons that I feel so good about my kids’ snacking is because it is so well rounded. When I give them snacks, I always try to include a protein in it. It makes them fuller faster and longer. A lot of times that protein is a cup of Horizon milk, or sometimes a cheese stick. But I love this S’mores Trail Mix because it’s kind of got the well roundedness built in!
It’s got mini marshmallows bits (found near the ice cream toppings in the grocery store) and mini chocolate chips and then some delicious Horizon Honey Snack Grahams to make it all s’moresy. But it also has some nuts in there for some protein and some delicious dried fruit. You could add so many different things to this. You could swap out the marshmallows and chocolate chips for some dried coconut and pineapple add some dried banana chips and it would have a tropical feel. You get the idea.
So in this world when I know I do so many things not awesome as a mom, I am feeling pretty great about my snacking. Lol.

You’re such a good mom, Lisa. I can totally tell. I just try to give my kids snacks that won’t make them angry. Like if I call an apple a “snack,” they get really steamed. Thus, the #momfail that has me feeding them chocolate more than I should.
They’d go for this, though! It’s a perfect balance of good stuff with just enough chocolate. I’m gonna try it!

Awwww, thanks Mir. I needed that today.
