You guys.
My kids only have 8 days of school left.
#holdme
I remember last year I was chomping at the bit to have them be out of school so we could do fun things. This year, I’m the exact opposite.
I’m so scared.
But! Along with the terrifying feelings of entertaining three children all summer while running two businesses, I’m feeling small – though fleeting – moments of excitement about some of the super fun things we will do this summer. One of the most favorite being get togethers with friends and family!
And what do all good get togethers need? Good food!
HOW DO YOU MAKE FLUFF SALAD?
There are so many different ways that you can make a fluff salad! Most of them have either cream cheese or cool whip, often they have both, like in this recipe. Usually there are marshmallows and maybe some type of fruit and instant pudding mix for a flavoring.
It ends up being a really fun dish that is super easy to throw together!
WHAT IS IN THIS STRAWBERRY BANANA FLUFF SALAD RECIPE?
This recipe is so simple and comes together with just a few easy ingredients:
- Cream Cheese at room temperature
- Cool Whip or any whipped topping. I know I will get the question. Yes, you can use homemade whipped cream, but it is not stabilized and I’m not sure exactly how it will behave in this recipe.
- Banana Pudding Mix. Just the mix! No need to actually make the pudding.
- Milk
- Vanilla Extract
- Strawberries that are chopped.
- Bananas that are sliced.
- Marshmallows
It’s so easy, which makes it the perfect thing to bring to a BBQ or Picnic. If you are looking for more perfect recipes for potlucks, check out some of these!
CAN I MAKE THIS RECIPE AHEAD OF TIME?
Not really . . . it comes together so fast, you don’t really need to make it ahead of time. And the ingredients are best if eaten the day it’s made.

Made this and it was wonderful. I also did one minus the marshmallow and put in a pie crust.
Lisa Longley says
Thank you so much for coming back to let me know Sherri!! And I LOVE that idea!
Jenny says
Could you use frozen strawberries instead of fresh?
Lisa Longley says
I haven’t tried it with frozen strawberries, but I would be worried that they would make it too watery.
Chris says
Try some broken pretzels. Sweet and salty!
Lori says

I may try it with vanilla pudding mix. I’m not a great lover of imitation banana flavor
Lisa Longley says
I think that sounds like a great idea!
Michelle Burroughs says
I did use the Vanilla and it was wonderful, I also added pecans it was a hit. Thank you

Kyleigh floria says
I wonder why there isnt actual fluff inside the recipe
Lisa Longley says
Hi Kyleigh, in this case it’s just the name of the recipe, not one of the ingredients. You could try adding fluff. It would change the texture a bit, but would be delicious.
Fran says
How is it served? Do you eat it with a spoon or maybe as a dip with something like Graham crackers or vanilla wafers? I want to try this but with less marshmallows.
Lisa Longley says
This is typically just eaten like a side salad, so I would say a spoon!
Leslie says
How long will it last I want to make it as a snack after dinner at night
Lisa Longley says
I would say that it is best eaten the same day it is made.
lori lambert says
I was wondering if this could be made for type 2 dibttiee too any ideas?
Lisa Longley says
Hi Lori! I am not in a position to advise about Type 2 diabetes, but if you used sugar free jello, sugar free cool whip and changed out the marshmallows for pecans I know that would help.
