You guys.
My kids only have 8 days of school left.
#holdme
I remember last year I was chomping at the bit to have them be out of school so we could do fun things. This year, I’m the exact opposite.
I’m so scared.
But! Along with the terrifying feelings of entertaining three children all summer while running two businesses, I’m feeling small – though fleeting – moments of excitement about some of the super fun things we will do this summer. One of the most favorite being get togethers with friends and family!
And what do all good get togethers need? Good food!
HOW DO YOU MAKE FLUFF SALAD?
There are so many different ways that you can make a fluff salad! Most of them have either cream cheese or cool whip, often they have both, like in this recipe. Usually there are marshmallows and maybe some type of fruit and instant pudding mix for a flavoring.
It ends up being a really fun dish that is super easy to throw together!
WHAT IS IN THIS STRAWBERRY BANANA FLUFF SALAD RECIPE?
This recipe is so simple and comes together with just a few easy ingredients:
- Cream Cheese at room temperature
- Cool Whip or any whipped topping. I know I will get the question. Yes, you can use homemade whipped cream, but it is not stabilized and I’m not sure exactly how it will behave in this recipe.
- Banana Pudding Mix. Just the mix! No need to actually make the pudding.
- Milk
- Vanilla Extract
- Strawberries that are chopped.
- Bananas that are sliced.
- Marshmallows
It’s so easy, which makes it the perfect thing to bring to a BBQ or Picnic. If you are looking for more perfect recipes for potlucks, check out some of these!
CAN I MAKE THIS RECIPE AHEAD OF TIME?
Not really . . . it comes together so fast, you don’t really need to make it ahead of time. And the ingredients are best if eaten the day it’s made.

J&J says
Making it now ,don’t have the marshmallows in yet. But it seems very dense to me. Will it do Ronald things once the fruit and marshmallows sit for a while like ambrosia?
Lisa Longley says
The final consistency is definitely one that you can scoop very easily but isn’t too dense.
Shana Newquist says
Going to add cheesecake pudding mix instead of banana pudding!
Kelly says
Can I use frozen strawberry I chopped up myself?
Lisa Longley says
I haven’t tried it with frozen strawberries. They might add a little too much moisture to the recipe.
Rita says
With the strawberry banana salad, it says dry banana pudding, but is that the regular type or the instant type? Just to make sure. So, I bought both. Thanks
Rita
Lisa Longley says
The instant kind!
Linda Pasley says
We didn’t use a mixer. We used a hand held whisk. It left a chunk texture. Is that okay??
Lisa Longley says
It’s just a matter of personal preference. I prefer a smoother texture, which is why I go with a hand held mixer.
Erin says
I just finished making this and I will continue using this recipe because it is the bomb.com. It will be even better when it gets cold. This is dessert for tonight. Thank you.

Lisa Longley says
I’m so sorry, it seems like Google translate has failed us here because I’m not sure what you are trying to ask.
msSally says
Would it be possible to freeze this? Sounds wonderful but I’m the only one at my house and would love to make this.
Lisa Longley says
I’m sorry! Because of the marshmallows and the cream cheese, this isn’t one that I would recommend freezing.
Michelle says
I will be making this early in the morning should I refrigerate until a couple of hours before?
Lisa Longley says
Definitely refrigerate, and you might consider slicing and adding the bananas right before serving.
